The Print Report

Prints are set to be a prominent element of the new season trends, with a dizzying range of styles and colours gracing the Spring/Summer catwalks. Here, we've taken our favourites, and will point out where you can make them your own on a budget...

 Orientalism
John Galliano

seen at: John Galliano, Diane Von Furstenburg, Louis Vuitton
Our Pick: Zara's printed kimono blazer, £69.99

Note - The key feature of orientalism, is the movement of the fabric. Settle for no less than silk.

Stripes
Prada
seen at: Prada, Jil Sander, Hermes, Louis Vuitton, Celine
Our Pick: Topshop (generally!), the store has a great range of stripes, thick and thin, in an array of colours.

Note: Choose vertical stripes in either a dress or a maxi skirt, keep a long length to create a contrasting yet casual look.

Graphic Prints - fruits, houses, leaves
Mary Katrantzou
seen at: Mary Katrantzou, Prada, Stella McCartney
Our Pick:  House of Holland Cropped T-Shirt with Banana Leaf Print, £55
Note: Clash eclectic prints for a more striking take on the season's trend.

Animal Print - Leopard & Python
Rebecca Taylor
seen at: Rebecca Taylor, Givenchy, Blurmarine, Burberry Prorsum
Our Pick: Reiss Dita Flared Animal Print Dress £159

Note: Pair animal prints with tribal shoes to complete the S/S'11 look.

Polka Dots
Moschino
Seen at: Moschino, Micheal Kors, ADAM, Marni, Giles Deacon.
Our pick: Whistles; The Millie spot jacket and the Millie spot wide leg.

Note : Opt for a trouser suit and choose a subtle take on the catwalk's spots, through a smaller print.
